ValtajerosIt is at the bottom of the Mountain range Sierra del Rodadero it used to belong to Magaña. It also belonged to the Lordship of the Count Santiesteban. It still has the old gallows.

Interesting places:
Iglesia fortaleza de Nuestra Señora del ColladoOur Lady of the Collado’s Church (Good of Cultural Interest in the Category of Munument in 2000) – Romanesque church with some Gothic remains. One single nave divided in four spaces by transverse arches which are covered by two vaults and a semicircular squared apse. It is made of stone. The end of the East wall is a belfry. The most characteristic feature of this church is that it is fortified with arrow loops and merlons. It has a square apse is not common in the area. It was walled due to the battles that were fought in this area between the Kings Sancho the Strong of Navarre and Alfonso VIII.

Festivals and other information
Saint Blas, on February 3rd, with an association that is devoted to the saint. Some bonfires used to be blessed in Saint Blas and La Candelaria. They used to burn a Judas and a Judesa. They also used to pingar el mayo, which means to raise the highest pine in the main square. The houses of the ladies were decorated. They also used to pay the rent and the advance to the neighbour and young boy. At Epiphany as well as at All Saint’s Day the town council used to give some wine to the neighbours who used to drink it in a silver cup. There are a typical dances which are danced with sticks and zarrón.
