Santa Cruz de YanguasSanta Cruz de Yanguas is located in the basin of the Baos river at its junction with the stream called Peña Colorada. A wide forest dotted with pines, oak trees and beeches –some of them centenary- covers the mountains that surround the town. It borders with the Reserva Regional de Urbión (Regional Reserve). The hunting of deers, roe deers, wild boars and timberdoodles is very popular in this area. Other important resourses are the forestry and mycological ones.

Interesting places:
Gothic Trinity's Church (16th century) – One nave with a poligonal apse and two lateral chapels. And a star-shape rib roof.

Virgin del Pilar's Church- it is next to the cemetery; rectangular ground plant with twin doors.

Réplica de StegosaurioIchnites Site – Within the town there is an ichnites site with a mock-up of an Ornithischia. And in Los Tornos site, which lies next to the bridge over the river Baos, theropods, ornithopods and pterosaurs' footprints can be seen.



Red Natura 2000Most of its area is included within the Natura 2000 Network as part of the LIC Sierra de Urbión which involves those spaces awarded as ZEPAS by the Birds Directive(79/409/CEE) and the ones assigned for the fulfilling of the Council Directive (92/43/CEE), known as LIC (Natural Habitat Types of Community Interest). The purpose of this network is to ensure the conservation of this special area to maintain or restore the natural habitats and the population of species of wild fauna and flora. Pines, oak trees and beeches make up its dense forest stand. Ruta del BaosBaos Route – It walks along the riverside from Santa Cruz de Yanguas to Valuérteles through an unexplored landscape.


Municipal districts
Villartoso - A former transhumance based town. An old cattle path, that joins La Laguna with the Royal Cattle Track, crosses the town. The landscape is drawn by a riverside forest and beautiful beeches forests. Saint Benito’s Church and several ichnites sites. Festivals: July, 11th: Saint Benito; August, 15th: Asuntion of Saint Mary.

ValdecantosValdecantos - Most part of this small village is in ruins and almost uninhabited. It is placed on the hill Corvejón from where the river Baos and the Llanas Mill can be seen.
