Festivals and other information
Cerbón Third Sunday of August, in honour of the Madonna of the Rosary. The festivity begins on Friday when the Mayor of the town says the opening speech from the town council. After the speech, everybody comes into a tour around the different clubs of the town -one for each age group- and everybody taste the typical drink, the remojón (made of wine, sugar and peaches). At night, there is an open-air dance in the “pelota” court.

Saturday is the most important day, in the morning all the youngsters ring out the bells and carry an image of the Madonna through the streets. The image is carried by men, but just before it is returned to the church, women make and offering and finally the image goes back to the altar. In the afternoon, children have fun playing popular games and dancing. There is also a tournament of guiñote (typical Spanish card game) with a prize for the winners.

On Sunday morning, everybody goes to each house of the town with a bucket to collect the rosquillas (a kind of doughnuts) that women baked, and to taste some biscuits and moscatel wine. In the afternoon some kind of traditional show is carried out: Castilian jota (traditional music), Castilian pipers… and at night, some more dancing!! On Monday, to finish up the festival, a popular lunch, a football match “singles” against “married", and a great chocolate party are carried out.
